Why should we have five to nine fresh pieces of fruit a day, organically grown if                     possible?

One of the reasons that fruit has such a nutritional value is             that the largest part of fruit consists of water just like the               human body.

Some people consider fruit to be expensive. However, the benefits of fruit far out weigh the cost and in the long run it is less expensive than having by-pass surgery or suffering a stroke.

Since fruit is made of 80% of water, like our body, it is only logical for us to consume as much fruit as possible. There is no other food that contains as much water as fruit. Vegetables also contain a lot of water but they come in second best.

Fruit is 100% cholesterol free

No doubt about this argument. Too much bad-cholesterol is not good for our bodies and fruit doesn’t contain any cholesterol. Therefore, fruit is one of the most healthful and beneficial foods that we can consume.

Fruit stimulates the memory

Fruit is the ultimate brain fuel. Fruit has a positive effect on our brains. Scientists are still looking into how much fruit can help our minds. It is known that if you consume fruit regularly, your brain can recall information faster and more easily. This is good information for those people that you know that are preparing for an exam.

Fruit has a high fiber content

A diet with plenty of fiber helps fight against high blood pressure and other factors that increase your chance of heart disease. The consumption of high fiber food is very important. Fruit as well as vegetables contain healthy natural fiber. It is recommended by the American Heart Association that people consume 25 to 30 grams of fiber a day. This means that an individual should consume 5 to 9 servings of fresh fruits or vegetables a day.

Fruit makes you feel better

Fruit has been known to help people who suffer from depression. Eating fruit on a regular basis can help individuals with illnesses and disease. It is also very healthy to drink a lot of freshly squeezed fruit drinks on a regular basis. It will take approximately 30 days until you start to notice the effects. Don’t forget that it is best to drink your smoothies 20 minutes before the consumption of a full meal. This way the fruit is absorbed first in the stomach and that helps to absorb the other nutritious elements in the blood more effectively.
